Sometimes when I'm walking out to the parking lot, I pass a classroom with the lights off. Lights off, overhead on, the room is full of students.
They're singing.
They're reading words from an overhead projector and singing without instruments or music. Kids who don't have a place anywhere else come and sing in this classroom after school.
No cheerleaders.
No basketball players.
No student council.
Just kids whose place is in that classroom to sing with the lights off so no one can see their face when they sing loud.
Maybe I wish I would do stuff like that but never did and never will.
